Learn how to create a story, play, or a children’s book through this 15 week intensive. From the first idea, to the many revisions later, we will delve into the history of children’s writing and publishing; explore the many trends in children’s literacy, while developing your unique voice as a writer. Work on narrative, dialogue, and structure, while bringing your idea to life and onto the page.

Treehouse Shakers’ writing workshops expertly encourage young voices to be developed on the page. We have workshops that explore creative writing, personal narrative, and playwriting. From one-day writing workshops, to fifteen-week intensives, Treehouse Shakers’ professional writing artists value the storyteller within, while guiding students through the craft of writing. We also have writing workshops to partner with our performances and help writers intimately explore the performances’ themes.
